The 2026 Chengdu Auto Show officially opened on August 21. The revamped Deepal G318 made its market premiere at the event, launching three trim levels with official guide prices ranging from 199,800 yuan to 239,800 yuan. Buyers can enjoy a limited-time cash discount of 3,000 yuan as a launch benefit. While the exterior styling sees minimal tweaks, the model receives major tech upgrades including the HarmonySpace 5 intelligent cockpit and Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro advanced driver-assistance system.
## Exterior Design & Dimensions
The new Deepal G318 retains its rugged boxy SUV silhouette defined by sharp, straight body lines that underscore its off-road identity. Its intricate front grille pairs with a robust front bumper and C-shaped LED headlight clusters, delivering strong visual recognition. Five exterior paint options are available: Atomic Gray, Blaze Yellow, Diamond Black, Crystal Green and Star White.
Flared wheel arches and roof rails carry over from the outgoing model. The most notable exterior change replaces pop-out hidden door handles with mechanical door handles for improved reliability in frigid weather. The side-swing tailgate with a spare tire cover remains at the rear. Body measurements stay unchanged at 5,125 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width and 1,895 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,880 mm. Roof spotlights and off-road expansion kits are no longer factory standard and have been shifted to optional extras.
## Interior Layout & Practical Features
The interior layout largely carries over from the current generation, with refinements focused on the central control area. Redesigned gear shifters and cup holders free up extra storage space for mobile phones, while physical air-conditioning buttons are retained for easy blind operation while driving. Three interior color themes are offered: Dawn Orange, Mocha Brown and Star Black.
Ergonomically engineered seats come with multiple adjustable comfort functions. Rear seat backrests can fold nearly flat to create ample rest space. Multiple storage compartments are distributed throughout the cabin, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) external discharge functionality is equipped to support camping trips.
## Core Upgrade: HarmonySpace 5 Intelligent Cockpit
The highlight of this facelift lies in the all-new HarmonySpace 5 cockpit built on the MoLA hybrid large-model Agent architecture, shifting the system from passive command response to proactive intelligent service. It supports voice recognition across a mix of 10 Chinese dialects and smooth continuous natural conversation.
A newly added navigation Agent enables route planning via vague voice prompts, with automatic route adjustments if drivers change destinations mid-journey. The 3D smart control desktop streamlines complex menu layers. Seamless cross-device connection between smartphones and the infotainment system allows navigation and applications to resume across terminals. Full super device interconnection is available for Huawei ecosystem products, and over-the-air (OTA) updates deliver ongoing functional improvements for the entire vehicle.
## Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro Intelligent Driving
Powered by Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro built on the WEWA 2.0 end-to-end AI architecture, the SUV is fitted with 27 high-precision perception sensors: one in-cabin LiDAR, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars.
Supported by this robust hardware suite, the ADAS system delivers city NOA and highway NOA navigation-assisted driving, 3.0 parking-to-parking assistance, campus autonomous parking, cross-floor memory-free parking and trace reversing. It also integrates the CAS 5.0 full-dimensional collision avoidance system, featuring GAEB general obstacle emergency braking and ESA emergency steering assist to greatly boost driving safety margins.
## Powertrain, Range & Off-Road Chassis
The vehicle keeps the existing 1.5T extended-range hybrid powertrain. The range-extender engine peaks at 110 kW. Four-wheel-drive variants adopt a dual-motor setup: the front motor outputs up to 131 kW and the rear motor hits 200 kW, generating a combined system maximum power of 331 kW with a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds.
It carries a 35.07 kWh battery pack supporting a maximum pure electric driving range of 200 km. Matched with a 60-liter fuel tank, the full fuel and full battery combined range exceeds 1,000 km, and the vehicle runs on affordable 92-octane gasoline.
The chassis adopts a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension. High-spec trims add magic carpet air suspension with CDC continuous damping control, alongside locking front and rear differential locks. Key off-road parameters include a maximum ground clearance of 240 mm, a wading depth of 600 mm, a 27-degree approach angle and a 31-degree departure angle, fully capable of light off-road adventures.
