SAIC MG officially launched its all-new midsize sedan, the MG 07, at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show. Available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) powertrains, the new model offers seven trim levels. Its official price range stands at 108,900 to 159,900 yuan, with a limited-time subsidized pricing bracket of 105,900 to 156,900 yuan.
Priced competitively for a new energy midsize sedan, the vehicle has garnered strong market interest. SAIC MG disclosed that the MG 07 racked up more than 10,000 firm orders merely one minute and 57 seconds after its launch. ## Exterior Design
The sedan adopts a sleek fastback coupe styling with a highly distinctive front fascia. Sculpted, mecha-inspired creases run across the bonnet, lending the car a muscular stance. Its C-shaped smoked matrix LED headlights deliver an exquisite light signature when illuminated.
A smooth sloped fastback profile defines the side view, paired with frameless doors. Functional air vents are integrated between the front fenders and front doors. Dimension-wise, the MG 07 measures 4,886 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,478 mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching 2,825 mm.
It features a hatchback rear cargo layout, while mid-to-high trims come equipped with an electronically deployable rear spoiler. A streamlined full-width light strip serves as the taillight assembly. The rear bumper boasts a protruding silhouette and a large matte black lower skid plate.
## Interior & Practicality
The cabin features a minimalist, refreshing dashboard with layered trim panels and wrap-around air vents. The sporty three-spoke steering wheel bears chrome detailing at the 12 o’clock position. A 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen comes standard, alongside heated and ventilated front seats across all variants.
As a hatchback midsize sedan, the MG 07 delivers generous rear legroom. Its rear bench folds in a 40/60 split configuration, and the large hatch tailgate greatly boosts luggage compartment versatility.
## Powertrain Specifications
### Battery Electric Versions
BEV variants ride on an 800V high-voltage platform, powered by two front-mounted single electric motor options rated at 176 kW and 235 kW respectively. Two battery packs are on offer: 67 kWh and 91 kWh, delivering CLTC-rated electric ranges of 610 km, 650 km and up to 845 km depending on configuration.
### Plug-in Hybrid Versions
The PHEV lineup pairs a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (peak output: 82 kW) with a 152 kW drive motor. It achieves a CLTC pure electric driving range of 245 km, while the combined full-tank full-battery CLTC range reaches 1,745 km.
